As cat lovers, we are always on the lookout for new cat-related things we can buy either for ourselves or for our furbabies. We love to see all of the cute merchandise, such as clever tshirts, bags, mugs, cat stationary, phone cases, etc.
However, along with these great and fun products, there are some that we are also just not entirely sure about. Who came up with ideas? Do people really buy these products? We will showcase a few of them for you today.
This product is marketed as "Bling for your kitty's behind."
Here is a short excerpt from their website describing this product:
"Have you ever thrown a respectable cocktail party at your home only to have your feline family member come out and proudly display their uncovered rear? While kitty might enjoy showing off their brown eye, we’re sure your guests don’t like to see that one eyed monster while munching on their caviar. Give your cat some class. Hang a Twinkle Tush from their tail and cover that butt in bling."
You can order your very own for only $5.99. With every purchase, you get a free sticker! They also have women's racer-back tank tops for $29.00.
I know what you're thinking:
We thought the same thing! What cat would even allow this?
Well, the good news is, for this particular product, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, this is listed as a gag gift.
To me, this one may be even more bizarre than the Twinkle Tush because this, folks, is not a gag gift. The tagline for this product is: "Lick Your Cat. Like a Cat."
Currently this is a kickstarter project with the following stats as of today: 2,022 backers pledged $52,179 to help bring this project to life.
"LICKI is a high-quality, soft silicone brush, designed to feel pleasurable to your cat's sensitive skin. Gently grasp LICKI's bite portion with your teeth, slowly approach your cat when she is sleeping or in an otherwise pleasant mood, and ease into the soothing and mutually beneficial licking behavior of cats. Don't be surprised if your cat licks you back."
Don't get me wrong, I love cats and I snuggle with my cats but I feel like this might be pushing the envelope a bit. But, hey, there are apparently over 2,000 people out there who are interested in pretending to lick their cats using this product.
What are your thoughts??
Tired of scooping litter? If you want to put in the time for 8 weeks, you can use this product to toilet train your cat. How does it work?
Step 1: The red stage with the red training disc trains your cat to go into the bathroom whenever they need to go and to hop up onto the toilet. The special white seat starts on the floor like a regular litter box then the whole thing is placed on the toilet rim when the cat is ready.
Step 2: The amber training disc has a small hole in the centre surrounded by the litter. Your cat stands on the litter while learning to balance. Your cat will experience going into the water for the first time.
Step 3: The green and final stage uses the disc with the large hole. Your cat learns to go directly into the toilet while balancing all four paws on the seat with their rear over the hole.Your cat won’t need litter any more and you can enjoy the benefits of a litter-free home. Later, remove the LITTER KWITTER completely!
I think this is a novel idea if you have the time for it. However, my cat likes to drink out of the toilet so I have to keep the lid down. I'm pretty sure this system wouldn't work for my boy.
Do any of you use this system? If so, we'd love to hear some feedback!
